Floor cloths are the specialty of Lauren Demore Studio. Lauren constructs her floor cloths with heavy 100% cotton, the hems are mitered and sewn to ensure they lay flat and are durable enough to be enjoyed for years. To see a brief history of floor cloths click to the floor cloth gallery. The gallery designs are priced according to size and complexity of design. Each rug is made to order, providing the opportunity to customize the colors in the design. If you have a specific idea in mind, Lauren is available for work to design the size, color, or shape that will create the perfect accent for your space and decor. The process for custom design work is detailed on the contact page.
Lauren is a self taught artist who began painting murals in her children's rooms over 30 years ago. Lauren credits her family, friends and clients for helping her develop her painting style. It was their requests and ideas for decorative painting on a variety of surfaces that challenged her natural talent and helped her develop her unique painting style. The requests from family and friends created an abundance of opportunity to practice her craft, and her hobby evolved into Lauren Demore Studio. In 2007 Lauren moved her studio to Rockland and joined the 4th Floor Artists where she participated in a number of open studios. In August 2010 Lauren moved to Natick and is currently getting settled in her new studio. Her work has sold to private collections, many pieces were donated sold at charitable auctions, some can be seen on display in local businesses. Lauren is an avid gardener and photographer. Originally, Demore used her photos as studies for her painting, however as demand for prints grew she added her prints to the gallery. Her photography has been shown at the Body and Soul Studio in Scituate.
Lauren Demore's philosophy is "any paint able surface holds the potential to become a work of art." She believes life is simply more enjoyable when every day items are transform into functional art.
